Conversations Over Coffee: A New ATG Series

I’m beginning to discover that in today’s climate of virtual work and social media, I know less and less about the folks who are my “friends” on Facebook and the 140 characters of Twitter give me just a glimpse into the lives of the people I just know would be someone I want to learn about.  Occasionally, an exchange in a social media space will leave me feeling cheated, because I know that if I had an opportunity to sit and chat, I’d discover a person that I really wanted to be friends with outside the digital confines of my computer.

What if I felt the urge to reach out and share a cup of coffee and a piece of pie with someone?  What if I did so in a virtual way that allowed me to learn more beyond 140 characters? And an idea was born:  Conversations Over Coffee.

Beginning on Tuesday, July 10th, you’ll see such a foray into the lives of others.  These will be quirky interviews in some ways.  A combination of serious and irreverent.  Real life behind the web persona.  Every day people I (and other ATG editors) come across as I traverse the digital seas. People doing wonderful things and spreading love.

People that, at the end of the day, I would not only share a cup of coffee with, but want to invite them over for dinner.

I can’t wait to share with you the wonderful folks we discover.
