Tell our readers about your background.
I am a pioneer in the personal development field. I have spent the last 20 years working as alternative therapist assisting women with their emotional healing and teaching them principles and methods to help them live their truth inside and out! I have post-baccalaureate certifications in Energy Psychology and several other healing modalities. I am the creator of Beauty Profiling and Dressing Your Truth, two revolutionary systems that help women understand their true feminine nature and how to dress to bring out their true beauty.
You are a bestselling author. Give us a quick rundown of the books you’ve written.
I am the author of 4 books:
- The Path to Wholeness: A Guide to Spiritual Healing and Empowerment for Survivors of Sexual Abuse
- Remembering Wholeness: A Personal Guide to Thriving in the 21st Century
- It’s Just My Nature- A Guide to Knowing and Living Your True Nature
- Dressing Your Truth- Discover Your Personal Beauty Profile
You teach women how to dress themselves in harmony with their authentic selves. First explain what you mean by ‘authentic selves.’ Then tell us why it is important to dress accordingly.
In my Beauty Profiling system there are 4 expressions of the feminine:
- the bright, animated woman
- the subtle, soft woman
- the rich dynamic woman
- the bold, striking woman.
Many women have lost touch or have never clearly understood their Type of feminine nature – their authentic self. When a woman discovers her Type of feminine nature from the 4 Types, and then how to dress to express her true nature, it is profoundly life-changing and creates a deep sense of confidence and freedom.
Who is your typical makeover client and what are they looking for when they work with you?
She is typically between 35-55 years old, has had children, is frustrated with her appearance and blames herself for the sense of inadequacy she feels. She concludes that she is too fat and getting to old to look and feel pretty. She has an array of items in her closet with very little she can truly say she loves. She is not obsessed with fashion, but cares about her appearance and her sense of beauty – she just doesn’t have the tools to bring out her true beauty with confidence and affordably. These women are looking for practical fashion and beauty tools that give them great results that take them from looking like ordinary women to women who stand out in a crowd. After working with me, they gain a confidence that they have not felt in years, they love to shop because they know what to look, for and they save a ton of money because they no longer spend it on fashion and beauty items that are not right for them.
How does dressing in accord with one’s authentic self impact a woman’s look and, more importantly, her self-esteem?
We like to say when you see a “fashionable” woman you notice the clothes first, then the woman. When you see a woman Dressing Her Truth you see the whole woman and her beauty, and her clothing seems like it is an extension of her. Women receive compliments all the time about how wonderful “they” look and how much younger and slender they appear. More than from just the compliments, a woman’s self-esteem is deeply affected by understanding her Beauty Profile, as she has learned a lot about her innate gifts and qualities and how to live true to them.
We often get caught up in the latest trends or what a hot Hollywood fashionista is wearing. What should we take into consideration before trying to incorporate someone else’s look into our wardrobe?
I would definitely recommend you learn your Beauty Profile. Dressing Your Truth teaches a woman the 5 Elements that create beauty on the body, which are design lines, textures, fabrication, pattern, and color. When you know your Beauty Profile, we teach you how to bring those 5 Elements together in a way that is best for your Type of beauty, both your inner beauty (your personality, gifts, talents), and your outer beauty (your facial features and physical characteristics). Then you know only to follow a current style or trend because it is right for you, not because a famous person is wearing it.
What three tips would you give to women who want to dress their truth?
- Learn your Beauty Profile from my book, Dressing Your Truth- Discover Your Personal Beauty Profile. That is the first step.
- Be willing to see your true nature in the program even if it brings up some emotional residue.
- Go through our online learning, which includes hours of personal beauty training for each Type, at www.DressingYourTruth.com.

Carol has some wonderful resources that do exactly what she says in this article. It is very freeing to know who you are and what your type is so that you can learn to live true to yourself. I have been through her energy profiling, Dressing Your Truth and am moving forward to her home studies. It is making a very big difference in my life and every one would benefit from her knowledge. She genuinely wants to help others and is doing a marvelous job reaching many people over the internet and her Center in Sandy Utah where she holds classes. It is a wonderful program that I believe everyone should invest in for themselves. Very healing emotionally, which leads to healing in the physical. Check it out… it is well worth it!
