About five years ago the doctors advised my husband that he needed to go onto decaffeinated tea. We tried a number of brands and they all had a pink tinge and a tinny taste. I decided that if ever I was advised to drink decaf tea I’d ignore the advice because it tasted so disgusting. My husband found that Twinings Earl Grey decaf was fine (but I REALLY hate the smell of that).
Then about six months ago, we tried Yorkshire Decaffeinated Tea and it’s as good as any tea I’ve ever tasted. It’s quite strong, so one bag will make two cups, if you’re that way inclined. Nearly everyone in the family drinks it now.
Twinings “Everyday” decaf tea is also good. It’s not quite as strong but very drinkable and relatively new on the market.
So why not let us know what your favourite brand of tea or coffee is. I’m also looking for a hot chocolate drink with marshmallows and no calories!

I drink decaf green tea during the workday, just whatever brand they have at the grocery store, and all summer long I practically live on iced black tea, just plain old unsweetened Liptons Decaf, which to me is the most refreshing drink in the world.
In winter I get a little more discriminating, though. Last year I got into loose leaf teas, and there are three in my regular rotation. From Teavana, Gingerbread Cookie is a blend of apple bits, candied pineapple, candied papaya, cinnamon sticks, beetroot bits, roasted almonds, popcorn, raisins, peanut bits and coconut chips. Plum Harvest is also from Teavana and is made of apple, cinnamon, plum, hibiscus and beetroot pieces. My favorite is Wu Wei, which hibiscus petals, orange zest, lemon balm, cloves, lavender, licorice root and sweetleaf. All three of these teas are spicy, fruity, and warming, and they all brew up red. Yes, I’m a weirdo who cares about things like the seasonal appropriateness of the color of her tea, but when it’s cold outside it makes me feel so warm and cozy to curl up under the soft afghan my mom knitted for me with a book and a pure white mug of dark red tea.
